In Peter's case, some Jews came along and he started acting in hypocrisy for fear that they would criticize his relationship with the Gentiles. Peter's response to the delegation from Jerusalem and his withdrawal from the integrated fellowship of the church has been exonerated by some who think he was appropriately sensitive to the demands of his own mission to the Jews and was simply accommodating himself to those he was trying to win to Christ.
